Telenor Marketing Goof

Bad CD ArtSometimes a picture says a thousand words. Someone was apparently asleep at the marketing wheel at Norway’s mobile communication giant, Telenor.

As a side note, this comes from the same marketing department that has changed the company logo from the swirl pictured at the top of the CD to something that looks exactly like a boat propeller (especially when rotated in 3D during television commercials).

Not well received by the Norwegian public (despite its trendier, more modern look), the change is an effort to shed the old government image now that Telenor’s gone private sector.

Telenor insists that it is not a propeller, “clarifying” the logo by making it now rotate in the opposite direction, a move now pìššìng off the local boating industry.
